शिक्षा बचाओ -- Shiksha Bachao

"The child is taken to school, and the first thing he learns is that his father is a fool, the second thing that his grandfather is a lunatic, the third thing that all his teachers are hypocrites, the fourth that all the sacred books are lies. By the time he is 16, he is a mass of negation -- lifeless and boneless." -- Swami Vivekananda

Rajputs get it again!

On page 33 (class VII history book), defeated Rajputs are said to be harassing the Sultan's armies. The book also says that not all Rajputs were hostile.

This is the pattern throughout the book. The invaders are projected as the natural rulers of India, and the nationalist Indian kings are project as being hostile.

Did you know that our secular cinema plans to make and release a movie next year called "Akbar-Jodha", with the cast of the most popular actor-actress of the day; Hritik and Aishvarya? While on one hand it plans to project Akbar as a very tall (6'-4") and goodlooking person which he certainly was not(in most historical refrences he is short and ugly) , on the other, it touts the pair as one of the greatsest love stories to have ever happened in Indian history. So rather than being a pawn in the politics of her father and a political conquest for an invading king, Princess Jodhabai will now go down the indian psyche as a lovelorn maiden who found her soulmate in "the most noble" Akbar, and the Invader Akbar who took advantage of a defeated Rajput King to marry his young and beautiful daughter, will be remembered as a lovestruck paramour, who married her for love against the dictates of his religion and clan. As far as I know, AKbar was old and sonless by the time he married Jodha, which just another tactic to humble the proud Rajputs. While kids may or maynot pay much attention to their history books, they as well as their parents are sure to pay much stronger attention to a movie, and consider it as the ultimate truth on the subject. Such falsehoods must be prevented from gaining further ground, but as our movie industry is in the hands of the muslim dominated mafia and underworld, there seems to be little hope. Rather in the years to come, we will see more on similar subjects.
